The Story of #95

Pomegranate Pyramid Lodge was not the first Missouri Lodge to hold the number "95". In fact, Pomegranate Pyramid is the sixth lodge under the Jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Missouri to hold that number. Another interesting fact about our number is that it is the only number issued to two lodges at the same time. They were: Acacia Lodge #95, located at Jackson, Missouri, chartered on May 5, 1848, and Pleasant Hill Lodge #95, located at Pleasant Hill, Missouri, chartered on May 8, 1848. Acacia Lodge ceased to exist during the Civil War, while Pleasant Hill Lodge had its charter arrested in 1853.  On June 2, 1866, #95 was assigned to Chapman Lodge at Las Vegas, New Mexico, which was then under Missouri Grand Lodge Jurisdiction. Chapman Lodge retained #95 until the formation of the Grand Lodge of New Mexico in 1877, when it became #2 in that jurisdiction. #95 was then assigned to Meramec Lodge in Eureka, Missouri, where is stayed until it was arrested in 1916, when it was assigned to Pomegranate Lodge on September 21, 1916.  With the merger of Pomegranate Lodge No. 95 and Pyramid Lodge #180, the newly chartered Pomegranate Pyramid Lodge became the sixth lodge under the Jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Missouri to bear the number 95.

Pomegranate Pyramid Lodge No. 95 is a proud supporter of our Masonic Youth Groups.  We feel that that DeMolay, Job's Daughters and Rainbow Girls are the future of Freemasonry, and it is up to us to give them the care and support that they need to make their way in the world.  In particular, Pomegranate Pyramid Lodge is the sponsoring body of Carondelet Chapter, Order of DeMolay.  Several of our members are on their Advisory Board and we take a keen interest in the success of the Chapter.  In addition, we are very closely aligned with Bethel #12, Job's Daughters International.  Several of our members have joined because their daughters became active with Bethel #12.  While there is no Rainbow Assembly in our immediate vicinity, we also support the Rainbow Girls and feel that they, as well as DeMolay and Job's Daughters, are vitally important to our Masonic future.  More information regarding DeMolay, Job's Daughters and Rainbow may be found at the links below
