Members of two Masonic Lodges and the Missouri Masonic Home
on Friday gave checks to four area schools to be used for needy children.
The Elvins-Ionic Lodge # 154, Leadwood Lodge # 598
and the Masonic Home of Missouri partnered for a new program this year to raise
money for children in the
“This is our first time doing this, but we hope to do it every year,” said
Garry Dalton, representative of the Masonic Home.
In a brief presentation held at the Elvins-Ionic
Lodge in Desloge, Leadwood Worshipful Master Allen
Dalton gave checks to
Elvins-Ionic Worshipful Master Terry Barnett handed
checks to Melissa Stetina,
“These donations went toward our “Creating a Partnership” program,” Ward
explained. “The goal of this program is to ensure that children are equipped
with basic necessities such as notebooks,
pencils, crayons and other materials.
“With the assistance of the Masonic Fraternity, we are making our goal of
giving children the education they need to be better students and happier
children a reality.”
The money also will be used toward clothing and shoes for needy children in
each of the school districts, the women said.
The program is part of the Masonic Home’s outreach program, Garry Dalton
