The Renovation Begins
Now that we have the building on solid footing, it is time for the renovation. This job is in the capable hands of WB Glen and Bro Joe Cron. Glen & Joe were inspirations to us all during the raising. They got right in and did the work of 4 men. Thanks to Bro. John Greer for donating his billboards. Bro. Vito Romano for donating all the electrical wiring, outlets, junction boxes, piping, tubing, plumbing, fixtures, intercom wiring as well as arranging for the lodge to be cleaned once a month. At our December communication Bro Bill Stacey, Bro James Vanzandt, Bro Larry Houge were made Honorary Lifetime members of Mt Olive for their EXEMPLARY contributions to the Renovation project.

On April 25th, 2000, a work day was scheduled to replace the flooring and some of the siding on the 1st floor of the lodge. Randy, Joe, Glen and Nick replaced the flooring that had been torn out in order to raise the building and repaired the hole in the wall that was left when the old chimney was taken out. We had to use some raw oak lumber on the south side because Nick forgot to number the flooring he took out, thus some of it got lost. Joe did the power sawing, Randy held the boards, Nick did the measuring and power-nailed with the air gun while Glen remininsced about the good ole days and cooked us Brautwurst on the Hibachi. We accomplished alot in 2 hours. Bro Houge is ready to put on the New Roof after the April Rains
May 23rd WB Dean Rowe from Hazelwood Lodge in Seymour brought a work detail of prisoners back to finish up the landscaping and rock work at the entrance and around the lodge they began the week prior. Below is some of their handiwork along with a picture of WB Dean and the inside of the downstairs.
