The Tradition of Mt. Olive Brethren wearing bib overalls began back in September of 1998 when "Ole" Glen Cron decided his body was not of suitable proportion to fit pleasingly into regular pants. Not wanting to look out of place, especially since he had just been elected Master, and after pondering the situation and giving it careful consideration, Brother Glen came up with a brilliant idea. Honoring our Ancient Brethren, at least the ones who started Mt. Olive back in 1872, by wearing the attire they wore during their time....

It was decreed (by Glen at his installation) that this would be the Lodge uniform at all Mt. Olive Lodge functions and when visiting area lodges. This New Tradition has proven to be very popular and gives us instant recognition when visiting area Lodges as brethren may not know who we are, but they certainly know from whence Lodge we came.
